“Switzerland Scouting Package” for Indian producers

Switzerland Tourism and Film Location Switzerland are offering Indian filmmakers a special package for scouting new, lesser-known locations.

The “Switzerland Scouting Package” includes free professional escort and accommodation during the scouting process by qualified location scouts and meetings with local authorities.

Candidates must fill out a form and submit their request to Film Location Switzerland. To qualify, candidates must fulfil certain basic conditions:

Ø The producer must have a serious, large-scale production in preparation.

Ø Switzerland must be clearly recognizable in the film (nice landscapes are not enough; the audience must know that it is Switzerland).

Ø Films where the storyline takes place in Switzerland will be given preference over films with only dream sequences in Switzerland.

Ø Projects will be selected based on the estimated “image branding” that the film is expected to provide Switzerland as a country. The better a film shows Switzerland and its local partners as a recognizable location, the better the chances are of obtaining the “Switzerland Scouting Package”.

If a producer is selected for the “Switzerland Scouting Package”, we shall provide the following:

Ø Food and boarding (max. 2 people) while in Switzerland for up to five nights. Any stays that exceed this time must be paid for by the producer;

Ø Transportation costs by Swiss public transport or, exceptionally, by a hired car. Any extra costs, including helicopter flights within Switzerland, must be paid for by the producer;

Ø A scout who will bring you to new, lesser known-locations in Switzerland;

Ø Meetings with local tourist board representatives.

In return, the producer must agree to the following:

Ø Signing an agreement stating the scenes to be shot in Switzerland, including their approximate screen time;

Ø Placing shots of recognizable Swiss landmarks, flags, and partner brands such as Swiss Air Lines or certain hotels;

Ø At the end of the film, the producer must credit Switzerland Tourism, Film Location Switzerland and any other private partners in Switzerland who have provided services free of charge;

Ø Providing one VHS or DVD copy of the film, general promo material and publicity pictures to Film Location Switzerland;

Ø Allowing selected journalists / photographers to attend some of the film shooting in Switzerland.
